WINDSOR TOWNSHIP – The Windsor Historical Society and Christ Episcopal Church (194 years old) and Museum are inviting everyone to their April 4 opening for the season, and a very busy, fun-filled day.
Their annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held that day at 11 a.m. sharp. There will be prizes for all ages, and one overall prize. Age limit is birth to 10 years old. There will be different age groups.
“Come early get your picture with Bunny if you like,” reads an announcement.
Again this year, they have partnered with Goodwill and they are to be there to “fill the bins” in a collection drive from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. that day also.
“Start spring cleaning early, give us what you don’t want,” reads the announcement.
If people need items picked up, they may call Lucy Bean at 440-537-9088 before 5 p.m. on Friday.
That Saturday, the Church and Museum will be opening for the season’s viewing. There will be some nice surprises this year.
Come and enjoy the fun and fellowship. See the new Library area with the wonderful bookcase, Amish-made by Henery Yoder. The bookcase at present holds over 25 large binders full of Windsor and surrounding area pictures and newspaper articles from late 1800 to today.
“I am always thankful for any clippings, or pictures you have and would like to share,” said President Lucy Bean. “You could spend hours in the library looking and reading a part of history you may not have known.”
Bean said they have other projects they’re working toward this year in June, July and, of course, their Chinese auction on Sept. 26. There will be more news later on them.
“I hope to see you at the Church, Saturday, [April 4], corner of Route 322 and North Wiswell,” Bean said. “Weather is hopefully on the good side that day.”
People may want to stroll across the road to visit the Wiswell Covered Bridge. Built in 1867, it is listed in the National Register of Historic places to see.
