The Edgewood Warriors softball team advanced in the playoffs with an 11-1 win over the visiting Jefferson Falcons on Tuesday, May 19.
Edgewood set the tone early with five runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Jefferson would never be able to recover, but were able to push across a run in the top of the sixth inning.
The Warriors added four more runs in the fourth inning to build a commanding 9-0 lead.
Edgewood added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the game 11-1.
Luci Paolillo started on the mound for Edgewood and pitched all six innings. Paolillo gave up one run on five hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
Ada Sirrine started on the mound for Jefferson and pitched five and two-third innings. Sirrine gave up 11 runs, 10 earned, on 16 hits and four strikeouts.
