The Lakeside Dragons baseball team came up just short in a comeback bid during a 4-3 loss to the host Edgewood Warriors.
Edgewood built a 2-0 lead after three innings of play.
The Dragons tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning. However, Edgewood scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to regain their 4-2 lead.
Lakeside scored one more run in the top of the sixth inning but fell 4-3.
Anthony Wooten started on the mound for Lakeside and pitched six innings. Wooten gave up four runs, three earned, on five hits, one walk and nine strikeouts.
Geno Measel started on the mound for Edgewood and pitched five innings. Measel gave up two runs on seven hits, three walks and seven strikeouts.
Devin Sanchez pitched an inning of relief and gave up one run on one hit, two walks and one strikeout.
Ethan Glaus pitched the final inning for Edgewood and allowed zero runs on one walk and two strikeouts.
