The Ashtabula County Basketball Foundation held their annual senior classic on Monday, March 9 at Edgewood High School.
The girls game featured Team Black coached by Zach Sirrine, of Grand Valley, against Team Orange coached by Randy Vencill, of Edgewood.
Team Black roster consisted of: Abby Feick, of Jefferson; Julia Hitchcock, of Pymatuning Valley; Izzy Holler, of St. John; Daneja Holley, of Lakeside; Alexis Kiser, of Conneaut; Sadie Paul, of Pymatuning Valley; Heaven Rivera, of Edgewood; Rayah Spencer, of St. John; and Emma Warner, of Edgewood.
Team Orange roster included: Marissa Arrieta Williams, of St. John; Raylyn Ballentine, of Pymatuning Valley; Amiah Brown, of Lakeside; Raymie Fill, of Conneaut; Annie Mae Johnston, of Edgewood; Alexa Jordan, of St. John; Eralyn Lockwood, of Pymatuning Valley; Tahkyah Myers, of Geneva, and Empriss Sallee-Hull, of Edgewood.
Team Black jumped out to a 9-0, but Team Orange recovered to tie the game 23-23 going into the second, twenty-minute half.
Sadie Paul led Team Black in the first half with ten points.
Alexis Kiser added seven points for Team Black.
Izzy Holler four points and Heaven Rivera two points also scored for Team Black in the first half.
Annie Johnston led Team Orange with eight points in the first half.
Team Orange also got six points from Tahkyah Myers, four points from Eralyn Lockwood, three points from Raylyn Ballentine and two points from Raymie Fill.
Team Black looked to get back on track as they jumped back out to a 37-27 lead in the second half.
However, Team Orange would battle back once again to win the game 50-49.
Johnston had a big second half for Team Orange with 14 second half points to finish with 22 points.
Tahkyah Myers and Raymie Fill each added six points.
Eralyn Lockwood also knocked down a big three-pointer for Team Orange.
Alexis Kiser and Abby Feick each scored six points for Team Black in the second half.
Alexis Kiser finished with a team high 13 points in the loss.
Sadie Paul finished with ten points all coming in the first half.
Rounding out the second half scoring for Team Black were: Izzy Holler five points; Emma Warner, three points; Julia Hitchcock, three points and Daneja Holley three points.
