The Conneaut Spartans girls’ basketball team overcame a sluggish third quarter to defeat the visiting Pymatuning Valley Lakers 44-41.
The Lakers edged the Spartans 10-9 in the opening quarter.
Julia Hitchcock led the Lakers with four points.
Sadie Paul added three points for the Lakers in the first quarter.
Eralyn Lockwood scored the only other basket and Mackenzie Kribbs added a free throw.
Alexis Warner led the Spartans with six of their nine points.
Alexis Kiser added the only other basket on a three-pointer.
Conneaut turned things up in the second quarter as they outshot Pymatuning Valley 16-7.
