ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP – As promised, Sheetz closed its current Sheetz store in Ashtabula Township this week as part of its effort to build a new one at the location.
Signs were up at the store noting that it would be temporarily closing Monday, July 6.
Although the store was still in operation in the daytime July 6, an employee in the store said it would be closing at midnight on that date.
The signs indicated that the new store that will be built would be opening in December.
“See ya then!” the message read.
The current Sheetz store will be razed with the new one built in the same place.
Previously, Nick Ruffner, Public Affairs Manager for Sheetz, said the current store was scheduled to be torn down in early July with construction set to begin then.
The new building will be larger in size.
“The current store is 3,901 square feet and the new store will be 4,959 square feet,” Ruffner said.
Look for an enhanced experience at the new store.
“Our store rebuilds typically feature enhancements designed to elevate the restaurant-style experience for our customers and help our employees best deliver on Sheetz’s menu offerings, through additional self-service kiosks, Made-To-Order® stations and self-checkout stations,” Ruffner said.
