The Perry Pirates secured a return trip to the regional final four for the fourth straight season. Perry defeated West Branch 21-0 to advance to the Division IV regional game. With the win, Perry improved to 10-2 on the season.
The Pirates had a couple of big plays early on but the drives would eventually come up short.
Trefzger found Traxton Richards for a 41-yard pass early on in the first quarter, but the drive stalled.
Carter Hopkins also had a long play of 59-yards on another drive that came up empty.
However, every time the Perry offense stalled the defense was up to the task of keeping West Branch off the board.
Nate Trefzger broke the scoreless tie late in the second quarter with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Justin Costello.
Perry went on to add two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to secure the 21-0 win.
Chase Sivon helped the Pirates gain some breathing room with an interception in the fourth quarter.
Nate Trefzger would eventually run the ball in for a six-yard touchdown, making it 12-0. Perry added the two-point conversion to up the lead to 14-0.
Carter Hopkins tacked on a touchdown run for the Pirates, making the final score 21-0.
Hopkins ran the ball for 120 yards on 20 carries.
Grady Hirst led the Warriors with 289 yards. The leading receiver for West Branch was Jeremiah Smith with 10 catches for 151 yards. Gavin Gregory also added five catches for 59 yards.
Perry will now face Glenville in the Division IV regional final at Ravenna High School on Friday, Nov. 21.
