ASHTABULA – After a lifetime of collecting stories along with the pieces that tell them, Amy Clutter opened the doors to Patina On the Lake on Friday, May 22, in the Historic Ashtabula Harbor.
The boutique antique and vintage shop offers a curated mix of art, furniture, accents and accessories inspired by Clutter’s years of scouring flea markets and fairs across Europe.
Clutter’s passion for antiques took root in childhood, when a trip to a junkyard or antique store was never something she’d pass up. It deepened during four years of living in Germany as a military spouse, where she spent every spare moment exploring European markets and learning from seasoned dealers. That firsthand experience shaped her eye for pieces with genuine history and character, the kind that sparks a conversation the moment someone walks into a room.
“You will find a unique mix of pieces in our shop, with the goal of finding that one piece that speaks to you in a new way,” Clutter said. “I love to mix old pieces with new, I aim to find pieces that make people ask ‘what is that and where did you find it?’”
After 26 years of traveling the world alongside her husband Brett during his military career, the couple has settled in Geneva, Ohio — Brett’s hometown — and Clutter has turned her long-held passion into Patina On the Lake. The shop reflects her belief that every home has a unique story to tell, and that the right antique can become a treasured part of that story for generations.
Patina On the Lake opened Friday, May 22, at 1467 Bridge Street in the Historic Ashtabula Harbor.
