ANDOVER – Pymatuning Area Chamber of Commerce President Lara Reibold is looking to spread the word that chamber is hosting a pair of events as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary celebration.
Reibold told the Andover Village Council during a regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10, that the PACOC is distributing posters promoting a pair of movies it will screen in March.
The Pymatuning Area Chamber of Commerce will be showing “Inherit the Wind” on Friday, March 13, and “The Ashtabula Train Disaster” on Friday, March 27, at Veterans Memorial Performing Arts Center at Pymatuning Valley High School.
“I have posters, if anybody has any places they want to put them out,” Reibold said. “I’m trying to get them out throughout the county.”
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the movies begin at 6:30 p.m.
Ohio goes to the Movies is providing the funds to license, obtain and promote the movies.
The movies are being shown free of charge as part of Movies Entertainment Month in March.
“We scheduled ‘Inherit the Wind,’ which is about Clarence Darrow, who was born in Kinsman and was the village’s first attorney,” Reibold said. “He went on to become a famous attorney.”

“We have Amy Thomas from the library who will be speaking from 6-6:30 p.m. giving a little background information about him,” Reibold said.
The chamber is still looking for a speaker for the screening of “The Ashtabula Train Disaster.”
Those looking to attend should register with the Pymatuning Area Chamber of Commerce by calling 440-293-5895. When registering, interested parties should leave a message on the voicemail stating their name and the number of people wanting to attend.
“We’re asking for people to call the chamber phone and just leave a message so we can kind of just gauge attendance, because they’re afraid that for the train disaster one, we might come close to maxing VMPAC. We’re just trying to keep an eye on it,” Reibold said.
