GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE – Overlook Villas are coming to Geneva-on-the-Lake.
The condominium development that will be made up of detached single-family homes is planned for a vacant site in the village located at 5733 Lake Rd. E.
“The planning commission still needs to approve the final plat,” Alex Iarocci, Village Administrator of the Village of Geneva-on-the-Lake, said. “I expect that to occur in the next month or so.”
Formerly, the property had more than 30 seasonal cottages that were abandoned and deteriorated, according to Iarocci.
“The current owner acquired the site in March 2022 and in 2025 they partnered with the Ashtabula County Land Bank to raze all structures using demolition and site revitalization funds from the state,” he said.
Geneva Lake Owner LLC owns the property, where a total of 26 of the homes are planned. Berges Home Performance of Cleveland is the construction firm for the project.
Iarocci said there are two styles of homes planned for the development.
One is 2,000 square feet in size with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, full basement, and one-car garage currently listed for $648,000.
The other type is 2,243 square feet with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. This style is currently listed for $714,500, but the units along the lakeshore are more than $800,000, according to Iarocci.
There is nothing definitive yet on a start date for construction, but Iarocci said he estimates that it will be sometime this summer.
