The Grand Valley Mustangs girls’ basketball team dominated the Lakeside Dragons 63-16 in a recent girls’ basketball game.
The Mustangs raced out to a 36-10 lead after one quarter of action. Bre Rowland led the Mustangs in the opening quarter with 10 points.
Cloe Turk added nine first quarter points for Grand Valley as they built a 26 point lead. Riley Rowland six points, Kelsey Peterson four points, Jocelyn Cozad four points and Addison Spencer two points also scored in the quarter for Grand Valley.
Amiah Brown led the Dragons with four points in the first quarter.
Maliyah Tucker, Daneja Holley and Adrianna Potter each added two points.
The scoring slowed down in the second quarter as Grand Valley outscored Lakeside 5-0 for a 41-10 halftime lead. Bre Rowland scored all five points in the quarter for the Mustangs and the Dragons were held scoreless.
Grand Valley outscored Lakeside 12-4 in the third quarter. Addison Spencer, Cloe Turk and Riley Rowland each scored three points for the Mustangs. Reese Nims added the only other basket and Sophie Thirion hit on a free throw.
Amiah Brown and Elyzah Maunus each scored two points for the Dragons.
Grand Valley put up 10 more points in the fourth quarter and held the Dragons to two points as they won 63-16.
Bre Rowland, Lydia PRah, Jocelyn Cozad and Cloe Turk each scored two points for Grand Valley. Kelsey Peterson and Sophie Thirion each added a free throw.
Maunus scored the only basket for the Dragons in the fourth quarter.
Bre Rowland scored a game high 17 points in the win for Grand Valley.
Cloe Turk also had a big game for the Mustangs with 14 points.
Riley Rowland also scored in double digits with ten points.
