The Grand Valley Mustangs boys’ basketball game won their district championship game 71-57 over Warren JFK Eagles.
Carter Turk helped lead the Mustangs with 23 points in the game and surpassed 1,000 points in his career.
Solomon Schultz finished with a game high 24 points in the win for Grand Valley.
Rounding out the score for the Mustangs were: Payton Plizga, nine points; Anthony Eason, nine points; Cooper Plizga, four points; and Liam Hart, two points.
Warren JFK led 13-11 after one quarter of action. However, Grand Valley would turn things around in the second quarter and set the tone for the rest of the way.
The Mustangs outscored the Eagles 20-12 in the second quarter to take a 31-25 lead into halftime.
Grand Valley added to their lead in the third quarter by outscoring Warren JFK 19-15 to increase their lead to ten points up 50-40.
Both teams continued to put up points in the fourth quarter as Grand Valley outshot Warren JFK 21-17 to win 71-57.
Preston Geracitano and Henry Phillips each led the Eagles with 17 points in the loss.
Andrew Lapolla also scored in double-digits with 13 points.
Rounding out the scoring for Warren JFK were: Anthony Georgalas and Joey Georgalas with five points each.
