The Pymatuning Valley Lakers boys’ basketball team picked up an 87-70 win over the visiting Champion Golden Flashes on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The Lakers were able to win the game despite a career high 40 points from Marky Nolan.
The Lakers countered with 27 points from Justin Britton and 21 points from Chase Guysinger.
Champion held a 16-15 lead after one quarter of action. Justin Britton led the way with six points.
Chase Guysinger added five points and William Baugher added four points.
The Lakers turned thing around in the second quarter as they outshot the Golden Flashes 28-11 to build a 43-27 lead going into halftime.
Britton added ten more points to give him 16 in the first half.
Noah Dubic added nine of his 15 points in the game in the second quarter.
Chase Guysinger added four more points for the Lakers.
Max Moores was able to hit on a three-pointer and Baugher added two more points.
The Lakers kept the points coming with 24 more points in the third quarter.
Chase Guysinger had his best quarter of the game with eight points.
Trent Harvey added six points, Dubic added five points, Britton hit on a three-pointer and Baugher added his final basket of the game.
Pymatuning Valley put up 20 more points in the fourth quarter to win the game 87-70.
Britton capped his big night with eight more points in the quarter to finish with a team high 27 points.
Max Moores added six points to finish with nine total.
Guysinger added a pair of baskets to finish with 21 points.
Noah Dubic added a free throw to also finish in double digits with 15 points.
Owen Karbarcka also came off the bench to hit on a free throw.
Nolan led the Golden Flashes with an impressive 40 points, only three points away from the school record.
Rounding out the scoring for Champion were: Braylen Braham 13 points, Keegan Clifford four points, Andrew Kish three points, Trent Pruitt two points and Zach Morris two points.
With the win the Lakers improved to 10-9 on the year and 8-6 in the NAC.
