The St. John Heralds baseball team rallied for a 7-5 win over the host Jefferson Falcons on Monday, May 18.
St. John scored five runs in the seventh inning to stun the Falcons for the comeback win.
The Heralds started the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
Jefferson answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.
Jefferson would maintain control for most of the game as they added two more runs in the second inning and a run in the bottom of the third inning to lead 5-1.
The game would remain that way until St. John cut the lead to 5-2 with a run in the top of the sixth inning.
St. John changed the course of the game with five runs in the top of the seventh inning, making it 7-5.
Jefferson was unable to muster anything on offense in the seventh inning as they fell 7-5.
Jack Collins stated on the mound for St. John and pitched three innings. Collins gave up five runs on six hits, three walks and one strikeout.
Brady Cole pitched four shutout innings of relief for the Heralds. Cole allowed only one hit and two walks, while striking out three.
Jefferson used six pitchers in the loss.
Tate Hudson started on the mound and pitched three innings. Hudson gave up one unearned run on one hit, three walks and two strikeouts.
Lucas Uden worked around a hit for one scoreless inning and picked up a strikeout.
Tristan Gilman pitched one and one-third innings and gave up one run on two hits and two strikeouts.
Joey Sands pitched two-third inning and gave up one hit and struck out two.
Logan Padget gave up three earned runs on a pair of walks and a hit batter.
Dylan Myllymaki pitched one inning and gave up two runs on two hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
