ORWELL – Board officers for the Grand Valley Area Chamber of Commerce were reshuffled during a Tuesday, Feb. 10, meeting, with Jackie Foote, former president, moving back into the position of board president.
After the initial voting, Kari Jacobs of Middlefield Bank, who had served as first vice president during 2025, was elected board president for 2026. Foote, of Grand Valley Public Library, was to serve as first vice president and Anita Balascio, owner of DJ’s Dugout Sports Club, was to be second vice president.
Jacobs found she had scheduling conflicts that precluded her serving as GVACC president, and stepped away from the position.
Following the reshuffle, Foote will serve as president, Balascio as first vice president for 2026 and the second vice president position is currently vacant.
The chamber is currently seeking nominations for the post.
Jennifer Burt of Don Burt’s Tree Service will continue as secretary and Jaimie Miller of Reel’s Auto will continue as treasurer for the chamber.
The GVACC Member of the Month for February is PlayAll Awards & Engraving of Ashtabula.
A schedule of Business to Business events for the year was presented during the meeting.
GVACC Business to Business breakfasts are set for March 24, June 13 and Sept. 24.
The Grand Valley Summer Festival will be Saturday, July 25, and the Christmas Festival is set for Saturday, Nov. 21.
The chamber’s Compass and Bright Star awards will be given during October.
Finally, the GVACC Holiday Mixer will be Friday, Dec. 11.
The next regular session meeting of the Grand Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, at the Grand Valley Public Library, 1 N. School St., Orwell.
