GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE – A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Saturday afternoon, March 14, to honor the grand reopening of Earth’s Natural Treasures, a health food market, natural remedies shop, boutique and more located toward the end of The Strip in Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Earth’s Natural Treasures is a whole and natural foods shop that offers a wide variety of other natural living products and services. It is – among other things – an organic grocer, natural remedies shop, clothing and jewelry store that also carries health supplements, energetic crystals, essential oils, herbs and herbal remedies and clothing.
Michael Coles and co-owner Sharon Bezoski decided to consolidate the shop on The Strip and Earth’s Natural Treasures Too on North Broadway in downtown Geneva after Bezoski opted to retire at the end of March.
The Geneva-on-the-Lake store was formerly seasonal, but Coles invested in natural gas heaters for the shop and it will now operate year-round, carrying everything customers came to expect, with the exception of the café that was at the North Broadway shop.
The official takeover happens on April 1. Coles said he decided to consolidate because the shop on The Strip did 60 percent of sales between the two only staying open seasonally.
“This is really the moneymaking store in a whole lot less months,” he said.
Earth’s Natural Treasures also has a license now to sell beer and wine, which was coming in handy during the St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl taking place during the March 13-16 weekend.
“I haven’t had a drink in 22 years, but to get on the Crawl you have to have a liquor license,” he said. “It’s working – 95 percent of the people who are on the Crawl end up buying something out here.”
