The Jefferson Falcons baseball team exploded for a 20-9 win over the host Edgewood Warriors on Tuesday, April 29.
The two teams squared off a day before with Jefferson defeating Edgewood with all five runs coming in the fifth inning.
Both teams were able to get going offensively in the second match-up.
The Falcons started with two runs in the top of the first inning to build an early 2-0 lead.
Edgewood scored their first run in the bottom of the second inning to trim the deficit to 2-1.
Jefferson tacked on an insurance run in the third inning, making it 3-1.
The Warriors continued to scrap away at the lead with another run in the bottom of the third inning, making it a one run game again at 3-2.
Edgewood broke out for six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to go up 8-3.
Jefferson answered immediately with three runs in the top of the fifth inning, making it 8-6.
Edgewood looked to stay in control with an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning to push their lead to 9-6.
Jefferson completely changed the game in the top of the sixth inning with 14 runs, making it 20-9.
The Falcons kept the Warriors off the board in the bottom of the sixth inning to win 20-9.
Tate Hudson started on the mound for Jefferson and pitched three and two-third innings. Hudson gave up eight runs, seven earned, on seven hits, three walks and ten strikeouts.
Tristan Gilman pitched two innings of relief for Jefferson. Gilman gave up one unearned run on three hits, one walk and four strikeouts.
Dylan Myllymaki pitched the final out for Jefferson and allowed one hit and struck out one.
Elliott Tobie pitched four and two-third innings for the Warriors. Tobie gave up six runs on seven hits, five walks and four strikeouts.
Riley Baldwin pitched one-third inning of relief and gave up ten runs, six earned, on four hits and two walks.
Ethan Glaus pitched one inning for the Warriors and gave up four runs on five hits.
