The Jefferson Falcons picked up a road win over the host Lakeside Dragons on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Jefferson won the game 41-19 to improve to 1-3 on the season. With the loss, Lakeside fell to 0-5 on the year.
The Falcons jumped out to a big lead as they outscored the Dragons 16-2 in the opening quarter.
Leah Valenti led the Falcons with eight points in the first quarter. Morgan Van Gieson added a three-pointer for Jefferson.
Dani Furman, Abby Feick and Alex Cribbs combined for the remaining five points. Elyzah Maunus scored the only two points for the Dragons in the quarter off of free throws.
The scoring slowed down in the second quarter as Lakeside doubled-up Jefferson 4-2. Daneja Holley and Amiah Brown each scored two points for the Dragons. Morgan Van Gieson scored the only basket for Jefferson, which led 18-6 going into halftime.
Jefferson outscored Lakeside 8-7 in the third quarter to lead 26-13. Leah Valenti added four points for Jefferson.
Abby Feick and Dani Furman each added a basket. Holley scored four of the Dragons seven points in the quarter.
Maliyah Tucker added a basket for Lakeside and Brown hit on a free throw.
Jefferson pulled away in the fourth quarter as they outshot Lakeside 15-6 to win 41-19.
Van Gieson, Furman and Feick each scored four points for the Falcons in the fourth quarter. Van Gieson ended the game with nine points, while Feick and Furman each had eight points total.
Avery Janouskovic scored all three of her points in the fourth quarter for Jefferson. Leah Valenti led all scorers in the game with 12 points.
Holley added two points for the Dragons in the final quarter to finish with a team high eight points.
Manus added a pair of baskets to finish with six points.
