The Geneva Eagles football team coasted to a 56-0 win over the visiting Jefferson Falcons on Friday, Oct. 24. The Eagles also secured the CVC Lake Division championship with the win. Geneva led 28-0 after only one quarter of action and 49-0 at halftime.
Caden Proy scored the first touchdown of the game for Geneva on a 7-yard run.
Geneva would get the ball right back after a blocked punt to set them up at the 3-yard line. Chase Cinco scored a 3-yard touchdown on the next play to put the Eagles up 14-0.
Caden Proy added an 88-yard touchdown run on the Eagles next drive, upping the score to 21-0.
Owen Davis added another first-quarter touchdown for Geneva on a 20-yard run, making it 28-0.
Bryce Peet completed a two-yard touchdown pass to Ricky Dipetta to start the scoring in the second quarter, making it 35-0.
Proy added another long touchdown run on a 66-yard touchdown run, increasing the lead to 42-0.
Bryce Peet added a three-yard touchdown run before halftime, making it 49-0.
Cooper Dubsky scored the only touchdown in the second half with an 11-yard touchdown, making the final score 56-0.
With the win, Geneva improved to 8-2 on the year. The Eagles are now ranked as the ninth seed in the Division III playoffs and will play either Kenston or Madison.
Jefferson ended their season at 2-8.
