The Geneva Eagles were able to turn a back-and-forth game in the first half into a big 42-14 win over the visiting Edgewood Warriors.
Geneva won the game 42-14, but found themselves trailing in the first half.
Edgewood scored the first touchdown of the game on a 33-yard touchdown pass from JJ Dufour to Jaiven Pope, making it 6-0.
Geneva answered with a 17-yard touchdown run by Bryce Peet, giving the Eagles a 7-6 lead after the extra point.
The Warriors regained the lead on a 56-yard touchdown pass from Jasiah Pope to Devon Sanchez. Edgewood was successful on the two-point try to give them a 14-7 lead.
The Eagles were able to tie the game before halftime with a 33-yard touchdown pass from Caden Proy to Owen Davis. Geneva kicked in the extra point, making it 14-14 going into halftime.
It was all Eagles in the second half as they got going both offensively and defensively.
Peet gave the Eagles a 21-14 lead with a 5-yard touchdown run to start the second half.
Peet then added his third touchdown of the game on a 35-yard run, making it 28-14.
Proy kept the offense humming with a 14-yard touchdown run, making it 35-14.
Ricky DiPetta added the final touchdown for the Eagles, making the final score 42-14.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-2 on the season and will face Conneaut in week 7. Edgewood evened its record at 3-3 with the loss and will travel to Madison next week.
