ANDOVER – A new urn columbarium at Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover will be opening in the spring, according to Megan Riley, cemetery sexton with the Andover Union Cemetery Board.
The columbarium was installed during the fall of 2025, with a little bit of finishing work remaining before it’s ready to receive remains, according to Riley. It should be finished in the spring.
“It was our project this past year that (Andover Union Cemetery Board) sought another option for anybody who would like instead of a ground burial,” she said.
The columbarium project was funded by the Andover Union Cemetery Board.
The columbarium houses 24 niches and interment will cost $1,000 each, according to Riley. Ground burial for urns will remain $150 for single residents and $250 for two urns placed in one grave. It is located toward the back of the cemetery and is located outside.
