ORWELL – Midway Chevrolet and South Central Ambulance District hosted the annual Classic Car Show on Saturday, July 25.
Sponsored by Chevy All Stars and Midway Chevrolet, located at 320 East Main St., Orwell, all proceeds from the car show benefit South Central Ambulance District.
“A huge thank you to Midway Chevrolet for their continued support of our community and for hosting this fantastic event. We’d also like to thank everyone who brought their amazing classic cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles out to share with everyone today. Your participation is what makes this event such a success,” reads a Facebook post from the South Central Ambulance District.
The event featured music by DJ Crazy Dave, the Chevrolet Street Team, free hot dogs and pop, the Troop 72 Pinewood Derby track, a Chinese Auction and a 50/50 raffle.
The top 20 classic cars received awards, with dash plaques also going to the first 100 cars.
Among the participants at the car show was David Townsend, of Chardon, with his 1958 Chevy Impala convertible.
“I come every year,” Townsend said.
John Reid, of Huntsburg, was at the car show with his ’57 Chevy.
“I love the people here,” he said.
Another show participant was Dan Thirion, of Painesville, with his 1934 Ford. His vehicle caught people’s eyes with its fiery paint job.
“This isn’t decals – that’s real paint,” Thirion said.
It was his first time at the show.
“Everyone said this was a good one, so I came,” Thirion said.
He had a copy of a Cruisin’ Times Magazine issue from October 2025 showing his vehicle within its pages.
