The Madison Blue Streaks were able to pull away late for a 27-18 win over the host Edgewood Warriors on Friday, Oct. 3.
Neither team would score in the opening quarter of the game.
Madison then struck first with a one-yard touchdown run by Chase White to take a 7-0 lead after the extra point.
Edgewood answered with a 22-yard touchdown pass from JJ Dufour to Jasiah Pope.
The Warriors missed the extra point as Madison held a slim 7-6 lead going into halftime.
Edgewood took its first lead of the game mid-way through the third quarter.
Jaiven Pope scored on a 6-yard touchdown run, making it 12-7.
Chase White went back to work for the Blue Streaks with a 10-yard touchdown run to put Madison up 14-12 after the extra point.
The Warriors regained the lead one more time on a 3-yard touchdown run by Jaiven Pope, making it 18-14.
The Blue Streaks rallied in the fourth quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run by Payton Birman, making it 21-18.
Madison would get the ball back on offense and put the game away on a 1-yard touchdown by White, making the final score 27-18.
Madison improved to 5-2 with the win and 2-0 in the CVC Lake Division. Madison will be on the road to face the 2-5 Jefferson Falcons in week 8.
Edgewood fell to 3-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play and will face the Conneaut Spartans in week 7.
