The Madison Blue Streaks girls’ basketball team picked up a 61-41 road win over the Geneva Eagles on Thursday, Feb. 12.
With the win, the Blue Streaks improved to 18-2 on the season, while Geneva fell to 14-7.
Madison outscored Geneva 16-13 in the opening quarter. Leah Brock had a solid start for the Blue Streaks with eight of their 16 points.
Gianna LaMarco added five points and CC Alley hit on a three-pointer.
Geneva was led by Ellie Burns with seven points in the opening quarter.
Ella Walker added four points and Giavanna Bobish added a pair of free throws.
Madison doubled up Geneva 14-7 in the second quarter. CC Alley paced the Blue Streaks with eight points.
Amara Morant added four points and Gianna LaMarco added a basket.
Ella Walker went three for four for the Eagles at the line in the second quarter.
Isabel Stocker and Tahkyah Myers each added a basket.
The Blue Streaks continued to pull away as they outscored the Eagles 17-9 in the third quarter to build a 47-29 lead going into the final quarter.
Maddie White and Leah Brock each scored six points for Madison in the third quarter.
Gianna LaMarco added a three-pointer and CC Alley added a basket.
Giavanna Bobish paced the Eagles with five points in the third quarter.
Ella Walker scored the remaining four points.
Madison edged Geneva 14-12 in the fourth quarter, but won the game handily 61-41.
Amara Morant had her best quarter of the game with eight points to finish with 12 points. Gianna LaMarco added four points to finish with 14 points.
Leah Brock finished with 14 points as well and CC Alley finished in double digits with 13 points.
Giavanna Bobish continued to lead the Eagles in the fourth quarter with seven points to finish with 14 points.
Elli Burns added a three-pointer to finish in double digits with ten points. Ella Walker added a free throw to finish with 12 points, while Isabel Stocker also added a free throw to finish with three points.
