Ashtabula County Manufacturing Institute is excited to announce its upcoming STEM Camp, designed to spark curiosity and inspire young minds through hands-on learning experiences and visits to local manufacturing facilities and businesses. The camp will provide students with engaging opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a fun and interactive environment.
This year’s camp will kick off July 13 with “Mad Scientist Week,” created especially for girls entering fifth and sixth grades. The following week, beginning July 20, will feature a coeducational Robotics and Automation program for fifth and sixth graders. On July 27, students in fifth and sixth grades can participate in the coed Food and Agricultural Production week. Also beginning July 27, seventh and eighth graders are invited to take part in the Future Techs camp.
Throughout each session, participants will engage in activities designed to encourage creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking while gaining exposure to STEM concepts that are increasingly vital in today’s workforce. Campers will also tour local businesses to see firsthand how STEM skills are applied in real-world settings.
The Ashtabula County STEM Camp reflects the county’s continued commitment to education and workforce development, helping prepare local youth for future academic and career success. By connecting classroom concepts with real-world applications, the camp gives students the opportunity to build confidence, discover new interests, and explore potential career paths available right here in the community.
Each week of camp will conclude with a special Friday presentation celebrating the students’ accomplishments and participation. During this time, campers will receive official proclamations recognizing their commitment to learning, teamwork, and exploration throughout the week. Families are invited to attend the presentation, offering students the opportunity to proudly showcase what they have learned through demonstrations, project displays, and reflections on their experiences. The celebration not only highlights the knowledge and skills gained but also reinforces the confidence and sense of achievement each camper has built during their time at STEM Camp.
The cost to participate is $35 per camper, an affordable investment in a week filled with hands-on activities, industry exposure, and meaningful learning experiences. The registration fee includes daily lunch as well as an official camp T-shirt, helping foster a sense of unity and pride among participants. Organizers remain committed to keeping the program accessible to families while delivering a high-quality educational experience that supports student growth and future career exploration.
