ANDOVER – After some brief deliberation over scheduling, Andover Village Council arranged a late August work session during a brief meeting held on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
The work session is set for Thursday, Aug. 27, at 5 p.m. in Village Hall. Work sessions are generally suspended during the summer months and recommence in September; however, councilmembers concurred one was necessary.
Village Administrator Richard Mead asked council to consider a resolution raising the pay rate and working hours for Lara Reibold, village zoning inspector.
He asked council to also raise the pay of Mike Baker, wastewater operator at Holiday Camplands, to better reflect his lengthy experience and his holding state certifications as both Class I water and wastewater operator.
Council moved to request Christopher Newcomb, village solicitor, to draft a resolution to the effect for review during its next meeting.
Police Chief Christopher Baker presented a departmental report for July, noting that as part of regular patrols, officers are checking village-owned water assets located outside of the village and at Holiday Camplands during each shift.
During July, Andover officers made three arrests, one on warrant, and filed 77 incident reports after responding to 159 calls for service.
In traffic enforcement, officers wrote 12 citations, issued 31 warnings and responded to a hit-skip motor vehicle accident.
Officers also served one search warrant in the village during July.
Reibold said she is submitting a contract for zoning codification to council for approval. She said there will be a 20-percent up-front cost, another 60 percent on completion and a final 20 percent after council approves the document.
The next regular session meeting of Andover Village Council is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. in Village Hall, 134 Maple St., Andover.
