ANDOVER – Families are invited to head to the Andover Public Library’s Storybook Trail for a fun winter-reading adventure.
The Storybook Trail at the Andover Public Library has a new book for the winter season: the picture book story, “A Cozy Winter Day,” by Eliza Wheeler.
The Storybook Trail is a paved pathway in the library’s reading garden that allows families to walk the path and read a book that has the pages displayed along the trail. With a new book each season, the Storybook Trail gives people the opportunity to keep coming back.
“Community members of all ages are invited to walk the trail to read the book and enjoy the interactive challenge that goes along with the story,” shared Community Relations Coordinator Maria Firkaly.
“A Cozy Winter Day” is a beautifully illustrated tale about an imaginary village of forest animals and the ways they are enjoying winter, Firkaly shared.
Readers of all ages are encouraged to pick up one of the interactive activity forms from inside the library or just outside the front doors.
“Act out the prompts and answer some fun questions as you read each Storybook Trail kiosk,” Firkaly shared.
The forms can be returned to the library after families finish reading the book. They are then entered to win a Winter Prize Package.
The prize contains two family-friendly games and two winter activity books.
The Winter Storybook Interactive Challenge runs until Jan. 10, 2026.
“Bundle up and visit the Storybook Trail. It’s a wonderful activity for families. It is a fun way to promote literacy with your children and free entertainment during the holiday season,” said Amy Thomas, the incoming new director.
The Storybook Trail fosters bonding activities and prompts conversations, all while encouraging reading for the younger generation.
Since the Storybook Trail opened in 2023, Andover Public Library has seen great success with the trail and the patrons of the library love having the outdoor space to walk and read along with the fun and interactive story.
