EASTLAKE – Wednesday morning, Feb. 11, the Eastlake Senior Center once again served as a beacon of support for local families in need.
In a partnership with Willow Praise Church and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, the center distributed 10,000 pounds of fresh produce to hundreds of people and families in Eastlake.
Leading the effort was the Rev. Larry Bogenrief, pastor at Willow Praise Church, who has spearheaded these monthly distributions.
Under his guidance, the event has grown into a reliable lifeline, providing essential fresh fruits, vegetables and other nutritious items to those facing food insecurity.
“Pastor Bogenrief’s dedication reflects the church’s mission of compassion and service, turning faith into action for the greater good,” Mihcael Zuren, one of the distribution’s organizers, said.
Zuren has been a regular participant for the past five years and has consistently assisted by registering individuals and families as they arrived, helping streamline the process and ensure everyone received the support they needed.
The distribution, typically held on the second Wednesday of each month, drew long lines of residents. Volunteers worked to hand out boxes filled with seasonal produce, bringing smiles and relief to many.
“Events like this demonstrate the strength of collaboration between local organizations, churches and public officials,” Zuren said. “They not only address immediate needs but also foster a sense of unity and care within the community.”
