Lawsuit Settlement on Insider-Trading Case

COLUMBUS, Dec. 29, 2017 — Today Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced a settlement of $290 million in the insider-trading lawsuit against William A. Ackman, his hedge fund Pershing Square Capital Management LP, pharmaceutical company Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc., and related defendants, on allegations that the defendants violated the insider-trading laws and reaped illicit profits by buying up billions of dollars of shares from unsuspecting Allergan, Inc. investors  who were not privy to Valeant’s plans to acquire Allergan at a significant premium. 

Ohio minimum wage gets 15-cent inflation increase

Ohio’s poorest workers will get a bump in pay next month when the state minimum wage rises 15 cents from $8.15 per hour to $8.30. About 146,000 Ohio workers who now earn less than $8.30 will see a small raise as a result of the automatic adjustment; another 478,000 earning slightly more will likely get a bump too as employers adjust to maintain pay scales. 

Eight Pilot Counties Chosen for Foster Care Recruitment Program
