Nassief Auto Group makes $10,000 donation to Ashtabula County APL

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP – The Ashtabula County Animal Protective League received a $10,000 donation care of the Nassief Auto Group on Tuesday, June 27, a matching-fund donation from automaker Toyota to complement an earlier donation from the Ashtabula County auto dealer.

Northeast Ohio Regional Airport wraps up $7.4 million runway extension

DENMARK TOWNSHIP – Workers are putting the final touches on a three-month runway-extension project at the Northeast Ohio Regional Airport, including a repaving of the entire runway, installation of new safety lighting and a widening of the safety area on the runway’s sides.

ASHTABULA – The Ashtabula Downtown Development Association held an event the morning of Thursday, June 29, at the clock on Main Avenue thanking the Ashtabula County Civic Development Corporation for its $30,000 donation to fund a beautification project in the city’s downtown district.

Operation: Street Smart educates parents and employers on signs of drug abuse

ASHTABULA – A public educational seminar on how to spot the signs of drug abuse, named Operation: Street Smart, was held in the main auditorium at Kent State University at Ashtabula on Tuesday, June 27, with two retired Franklin County deputy sheriffs providing information on drugs and how to spot someone who’s abusing them.

Longest Day of Play draws huge crowds to Lakeshore Park

ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP – The 2017 Longest Day of Play on Saturday, June 24, saw the beach at Lakeshore Park crowded nearly shoulder to shoulder with children and family members who’d come out to the free family event centered on physical activity, health and wellness.
