ASHTABULA - Matthew Fitchet, University of Mount Union, was named the 43rd annual Golden Helmet award presented by Gazette Newspapers for the 2017 Outstanding College Athlete. Fitchet is the son of Pete and Shari Fitchet.

Spartans hold off Dragons

SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP - Thanksgiving is over and the winter sports season is now underway. Friday, November 24, the Lakeside Lady Dragons hosted Conneaut's  Lady Spartans. In a slow developing contest, the teams came alive offensively in the second half. Conneaut took the lead in a low scoring first half and held on for a 37-28 victory.

Marte signs to attend Walsh University

GENEVA- Nancy Barbo has been the head coach of the Geneva Eagles girls basketball team for over 20 years. The Eagles finished 13-10 a year ago and bring back almost their entire team.
