Mustangs lose close game to Rovers

ROOTSTOWN- The Grand Valley Mustangs lost a close game to the Rootstown Rovers in a recent non-conference baseball game. The Mustangs held a 1-0 lead, but Rootstown rallied with two runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 2-1 win.

Fertig pitches Conneaut past St. John

ASHTABULA – The Conneaut Spartans baseball team picked up their first win of the season with a 13-0 win over St. John.

Dragons start season with tennis win

ASHTABULA - The Lakeside Dragons boys tennis team defeated the host Edgewood Warriors in a recent tennis match. The Dragons defeated Edgewood 4-1 with their only loss coming due to a forfeit in second doubles.

Hitchcock named to All-Ohio second team

JEFFERSON – Sam Hitchcock ends his basketball career at Jefferson with four notable records. He has the most career wins with 73, most points with 1,545 and most rebounds with 812. He also holds the record for most points scored in a game with 42. Hitchcock broke the previous record of 41 twice this season with 42 points against Lakeview on Feb. 3 and 42 points against Poland on Feb. 13.

Norris places 6th at State
