Mentor considering fire levy options

MENTOR – Mentor voters may see either a 1.5-mill renewal or 1.5-mill replacement levy on the November ballot this year to help the Mentor Fire Department purchase much-needed new fire equipment, the cost of which has skyrocketed over the last three decades.

MADISON VILLAGE – Councilmember Ken Takacs opened discussion about the weapons Village officers use when the pay ordinance was presented for approval at the June 5 council meeting. He noted the department had gone to all Glocks to save money on the bulk purchase of ammunition, but they had purchased some ammunition for a 9mm pistol.
