Retired band director plans to keep busy

MENTOR – Tim Niederkorn truly is a man of many talents and has benefited many of his students with those talents. He retired this past May after 31 years, his entire teaching career, with the Willoughby-Eastlake Schools. He most recently was the band director for Eastlake North High School.

Fire district awarded another grant

PERRY TOWNSHIP - Trustee Bob Dawson, who is on the Fire Board, reminded the trustees at the Aug. 22 meeting the Perry Joint Fire District had received a $76,000 grant for fitness equipment and gas and radiological meters last month.

Council advised on county drone program

St. Gabe’s blesses new playground

Concord Township – St. Gabriel School is bouncing, jumping, and swinging into the new school year with an improved playground. With funds from the annual Walkathon, CYO Boosters, St. Gabriel School’s Parent Teacher Union, plus a lot of parent volunteers, the school put in a new patio with tables, new basketball hoops, a galaxy spinner, and a poured rubber fall zone.
