Speed doesn't matter in Dark Horse 5K

WILLOUGHBY - If you are looking for a 5k 'race' where speed really does not matter, you might want to consider the Dark Horse 5k. Put on by the Northeast Running Club, this event is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at Lake Metroparks Chagrin River Park in Willoughby.

Northeast Ohio’s first-ever Regional Workforce Development Plan is official

Painesville – – The Northeast Ohio Workforce (NOW) Plan was drafted over the past year and was approved June 30 by the Ohio Office of Workforce Development. The first-ever regional plan for Northeast Ohio provides 11 focused regional strategies that leverage local strategies in the respective five area Workforce Development Boards.

Old cars, new cars, a bicycle and lots of people cruised in to Willoughby

Willoughby - Parking nearly 500 cars can be a challenge, even when there is an entire city available. With military precision, backed by 22 years of experience, on June 17 the members of the Willoughby Cruise-In Committee and volunteers parked old cars, new cars, souped-up cars, and trucks throughout downtown Willoughby, including filling Wes Point Park within an hour.

Foreclosure ends Osborne rezoning efforts

Mentor – The Mentor Planning Commission has dismissed plans by Richard Osborne, Jr. to rezone land behind his home, 9050 Jackson St., for a small residential development because of foreclosure on the property.

4-Hers show fashions at Auburn Career Center

PAINESVILLE TOWNSHIP – The 4-H Fashion Show and presentation of awards not being judged at the 2017 Lake County Fair was held in the Presentation Center at the Auburn Career Center July 13.
Ken Klinko, parent of 4-H participants Daniel and Matthew Klinko, welcomed everyone in attendance at the presentation and awards show.

Walking trail proposed along lakefront

Painesville – The Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority got its first look at a 2.5-mile lakefront bike and walking trail proposed to built from Fairport Harbor to Painesville Township Park during its June 28 meeting.
