Ashtabula County moves to withdraw from TAG, establish intra-county effort to combat drugs

ROAMING SHORES – The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners voted to end the county’s involvement with the Trumbull-Ashtabula Group joint drug task force in a vote during their April 25th work session and announced the decision via joint press release from the board and the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s and Prosecutor’s offices.

County health department releases needs assessment

AUSTINBURG TOWNSHIP – The Ashtabula County Health Department held a release of its 2016 Health Needs Assessment at Grand River Academy on April 27, citing self-reported data from county residents that showed residents’ health was largely unchanged from the last assessment conducted in 2011.

Prevention Coalition names new chair, vice-chair

ASHTABULA – The Ashtabula County Prevention Coalition named two prominent mental health and recovery services professionals to the positions of chair and vice chair at the board’s regular quarterly meeting held April 19th at the Ashtabula County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board’s State Road offices in Ashtabula.

Ashtabula County Young Republicans launch Memorial Field cleanup

GENEVA – A small group of volunteers gathered a surprisingly large amount of trash during a cleanup effort undertaken care of the Ashtabula County Young Republicans April 23.
Six volunteers rounded up ten bags of trash from the Geneva park, as well as some tires that’d been disposed of in the adjacent wooded areas, according to Ashtabula County Young Republicans President David Thomas.

Ashtabula County 4-H Foundation works on fundraising goal
