May 16--HARRISBURG -- Gov. Tom Corbett is putting a new face on his often-unpopular education policies -- nominating a new secretary of education -- while keeping the current secretary in a newly created position as a special adviser on higher education.

May 05--HARRISBURG -- Wild boar on Pennsylvania hunting preserves are at the center of a legal and legislative struggle that comes to a head next month.
It's an issue that pits animal rights activists and environmentalists against lawmakers and business owners who say the controlled hunts on fenced-in properties create jobs and boost rural economies. Some preserves charge a person $800 to $900 to hunt for sport.

State court expected to rule on boys in girls sports

May 04--HARRISBURG -- A dispute revolving around a decades-old law that allows boys to play on girls high school sports teams appears to be headed to court.
Attorneys representing the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association -- which says it would like to see the law changed to make sure girls do not lose athletic opportunities and for safety reasons -- and state Attorney General Kathleen Kane's office met Friday afternoon in Commonwealth Court.
