MADISON – The Madison Blue Streaks defeated the Chardon Hilltoppers in a recent sectional basketball game. The Blue Streaks won 69-55 to advance to play Cleveland Heights.
Madison got out to a ten point lead in the opening quarter as they led 19-9. Isaiah McClure led the Blue Streaks with a pair of three-pointers. Zach Guyer added five points, two assists and two steals. Corbin Anthony added four points on free throws and Marcus Horton knocked down a three-pointer. Ben Sulka paced Chardon with five points. Joe Screibo added four points.
Madison kept it a ten point game heading into halftime at 38-28. Dhel Duncan-Busby had a huge quarter for the Blue Streaks with 13 points and four steals. Corbin Anthony added four more points for the Bleu Streaks and Guyer had a basket. The Hilltoppers were able to keep it a ten point game thanks to three, three-pointers by Mike Laudato. Alex Sulka and Ben Sulka each added four points.
Madison upped their lead to 52-40 heading into the fourth quarter. Zach Guyer took over scoring duties for the Blue Streaks in the third quarter with seven points, four rebounds and two steals. Duncan-Busby added five more points to his total. Alex Sulka tried to keep the Hilltoppers in the game with six points in the third quarter.
Madison was able to close out the game with a 69-55 win. Duncan-Busby added to his night with ten more points in the quarter. Duncan-Busby finished with a game high 28 points. Guyer added a final three-pointer to his total along with two steals, two rebounds, two assists. Guyer finished with 17 points.
