JEFFERSON - Jefferson Village Council reviewed the streets being considered for paving in 2017 during its meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Jefferson Village Administrator Terry Finger said in his report that the streets being considered for paving are Center Street, West Cedar Street, Hillyer Drive, North Franley, Maple, Wall Street and Woodside.
Finger said that until the village completes the specifications and bids, he does not know how many of the streets being considered will be paved.
“We have budgeted $177,000 for paving and will use all of it,” Finger said. “We subtract or add streets as needed to use all the budgeted money.”
In his report, Finger also noted that he and Curt Stone, of the Streets Department, will be attending a six-hour Asphalt Pavement Preservation meeting at the Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 office in Akron on March 23. Topics will include preservation, maintenance and rehabilitation, such as chip and seal, micro surfacing and thin overlays.
Finger also noted in his report that the purchase order to have Signal Service replace the light bulbs in the traffic lights has been issued. Signal Service will inspect and clean all the controllers, including the pedestrian crosswalk lights.
Update: During the March 6th council meeting, Finger gave an update that they will no longer be attending the conference, as spots filled up too quickly.
