Warriors use tennis forfeits to their advantage

ASHTABULA - The Edgewood Warriors were able to defeat the Conneaut Spartans in a recent tennis match.

The Spartans were able to win first and second singles, but had to forfeit first and second doubles.
The difference in the match came down to third singles where Thomas Hutchinson, of Edgewood, defeated Jenna Burt, of Conneaut, 6-1, 6-1.
Edgewood would win the match in large part to two forfeits at first and second doubles.
Ben Butler, of Conneaut, won his first singles match against Teddy English, of Edgewood, 6-0, 6-1. Ryan Laitinen, of Conneaut, also won his second seconds match over Patrick Palumbo, of Edgewood, by the same score of 6-0, 6-1.
With the win the Warriors improved to 1-1 on the season.
