NEWTON FALLS- The Pymatuning Valley Lakers girls basketball team fell to the host Newton Falls Tigers in a recent Division III sectional final game.
The Tigers held the Lakers to only 22 points in the game. PV failed to score in double digits in all four quarters as they only managed seven points in the opening quarter, four points in the second quarter, five points in the third quarter and six points in the fourth quarter.
Newton Falls got out to a fast start as they led 20-7 after one quarter of action. They then took a 33-11 lead into halftime.
The Tigers kept the moment going as they doubled up the Lakers in both the third and fourth quarter for the 59-22 win.
Elizabeth Barreca and Izzy Kline each scored 14 points in the win the for the Tigers. Kline led the Tigers with 11 rebounds. Olivia Holden grabbed nine rebounds for the Lakers.
Madison Hurst and Holden each scored eight points in the loss for Pymatunign Valley. Ashley Hall added two points and three assists for the Lakers.
With the win Newton Falls improved to 19-4 on the season. Pymatuning Valley ended their season with an 11-12 record.
